Melinda Boyd

Melinda is a remedial massage therapist specialising in oncology massage therapy and is an oncology scar specialist. Her approach is collaborative and intuitive – every session is tailored to meet the person where they are, with compassion.

Oncology massage is a specialised form of massage therapy adapted specifically for people who have cancer, are undergoing cancer treatment, or are in recovery or palliative care. Each treatment is highly individualised with adapted techniques, and aimed to improve the wellbeing and quality of life for each client. It is evidence-based, safe and effective in alleviating some of the side effects of cancer treatment, and a valuable addition of care for those living with cancer.

RESTORE scar therapy is a specialised treatment for people who have had oncology surgery. It can help care for scars and the underlying tissue, with focus on reducing any issues related to a surgery or from radiotherapy such as post-surgery pain, limited movement or tightness, pulling or puckering, fibrous scar tissue or scar adhesions. An appointment in the first 6 months after a surgery is very beneficial (even if there are no unwanted complications), but also supports maturing scars (within the first 2 years of surgery), and mature scars (2 years and beyond). This treatment can be provided as RESTORE scar therapy alone or as part of an oncology massage treatment. To book for this treatment, use the oncology massage booking option.

Melinda has a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy, a Diploma of Remedial Massage, and is a certified practitioner in Oncology Massage Therapy and RESTORE Scar Therapy. She is a member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) and has a small clinic in the Inner West of Sydney.

Her naturopathic knowledge includes a holistic approach to health management through nutrition, herbalism and lifestyle choices.
