    Everything you need to know about Blackburn Square Medical Centre

    Are you a bulk billing clinic?
    Myhealth Blackburn Square is a mixed billing clinic. There is a gap fee for ALL patients on weekdays. We only bulk bill subsequent visits for patients who are pensioner concession card holders and children 12 years old and under. Private and OSHC patients are welcome too.

    How will the fee be processed?
    The full amount of the consultation fee will be charged at the end of your consultation, and we will process your Medicare rebate on your behalf electronically. The rebate should appear in your bank account within 2-3 business days. Alternatively, the option for an instant rebate via Tyro with a physical debit card is a convenient alternative. Make sure you have provided your updated Medicare details and have sufficient funds in your account for a smooth process. We do not accept cash.

    Am I eligible for Telehealth?
    Medicare has imposed eligibility criteria to be met for patients to be able to do Telehealth consultations. Patients need to have visited the medical centre physically in the last 12 months to be eligible for telehealth consults; otherwise, telehealth will be privately billed to the patient for the full amount, with no rebate.

    Can I come into the clinic if I have cold or flu symptoms?
    Please contact our reception team if you have any cold or flu symptoms. We will then require you to take a RAT test before attending the clinic. If the RAT test is negative, you can be seen for a face-to-face consult but will be required to wear a mask upon clinic attendance. Telehealth can be offered if the RAT test is positive.

    Do I have to pay for a follow-up consultation?
    Yes, consultation fees and gap fees (if any) apply for all consultations.

    What's your cancellation policy?
    Cancellation policy for GP consultations: Appointments must be cancelled and/or rescheduled 1 hour before your appointment for free of charge. No show or late cancellation will incur a $40 no show fee. Cancellation policy for Allied Health: Appointments must be cancelled and/or rescheduled 48 hours before your appointment for free of charge. No show or late cancellation will incur a $40 no show fee as Allied Health professionals have their specific scheduling in place per clinic.
