    Bulk Billing Update – Effective 1 November 2025

    Everything you need to know about Doncaster East Medical Centre

    Are you a bulk billing clinic?
    Yes. From November 1, 2025 our billing policy has been updated to align with the new Medicare bulk billing initiative, providing Medicare-eligible patients the opportunity to access high-quality care with no out-of-pocket costs.

    Am I eligible for Telehealth?
    To be eligible for Telehealth, you need to have completed a Face to Face consultation with one of our GPs in the last 12 months. If unsure, please call reception for advice on your eligibility and steps available to you.

    Do I need an appointment for a script/referral/Medical certificate?
    Yes, you need to make an appointment for these services.

    Do you accept walk-ins?
    Due to our clinic's busy nature, we recommend booking all appointments in advance to avoid long wait times and frustration. Walk-in appointments for emergencies are prioritised and triaged according to severity. Please book where possible to avoid delays for other patients and yourself.

    What's your cancellation policy?
    For GP consultation appointments, cancellations or rescheduling must be done 2 hours before your appointment for free of charge. No-shows or late cancellations will incur a $30 fee. Allied Health appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled 24 hours in advance for free of charge. No-shows or late cancellations for Allied Health appointments will also incur a $50 fee due to specific scheduling requirements. Full fees will still apply for any no shows or cancellations with Edwin Kung (Educational & Developmental Psychologist.)

    Can I come to the clinic if I have cold or flu symptoms?
    Please contact our reception team if you have cold or flu symptoms. We will require you to take a RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) before attending the clinic. If the RAT test is negative, you can be seen for a face-to-face consultation, but you must wear a mask during your clinic visit.
