Are you a bulk billing clinic?
We are a mixed-billing clinic that charges a $30 gap fee on top of what Medicare covers. OVHC patients must present their card, or full payment is required. On Saturdays, there is a $50 gap fee for all patients, regardless of concession eligibility. The total cost varies based on the duration and type of service provided. We can process immediate claims if patients bring their physical debit card. Reimbursements cannot be processed via credit card. We only bulk bill children under 15 years old and Pensioners Card holders. International students with valid insurance from BUPA, Allianz, NIB, Medibank, and AHM have their consultations directly billed.
Does your pathology bulk bill?
Our pathology bulk bills for most standard tests for Medicare holders. Students with OSHC insurance must provide proof of validity (card or policy email) and will have their invoice billed directly. OVHC patients with BUPA and Allianz policies will also have their invoice directly billed; all other insurances must pay prior to testing and claim reimbursement themselves.
Do I need a consult for a script renewal / referral renewal?
Yes, the doctor needs to ensure your current medical history is up to date before prescribing medication or renewing referral letters. Our doctors do not backdate medical certificates if the patient was not seen on the requested date.
Does a follow-up appointment for results incur a gap fee?
Yes, all consultations with a GP incur a gap fee, as the doctor may require further ongoing tests based on the results or findings from previous correspondence.
